DR ARIJIT DAS
(Chemical Educationist & Inorganic Chemist)
Dr. Arijit Das is basically a Chemical Educationist and specifically Inorganic Chemist. At present, he is holding the post of Assistant Professor (Sr.Gr.), Department of Chemistry, Bir Bikram Memorial College (BBMC), Agartala, West Tripura. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree from Tripura University in 1998, 2001 and 2008 respectively. He done Post-Doctoral Research at “Synthetic Inorganic Laboratory” under the valuable guidance of Prof. M.K.Singh, Dean of Science, Tripura University (April 2008 – Dec 2010).
He joined as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Govt.Degree College, Dharmanagar, North Tripura on Jan -2011. During his Ph.D. he got ‘PMLPM’ research fellowship of T.U. for two yrs (2002-2004).
Apart from teaching assignments in Ramthakur College, he was also be the Principal Investigator of SERB-DST project, Govt.of India, New Delhi. He had also DST sponsored research Laboratory namely ‘Synthetic Inorganic Research Laboratory’ (ESTD-Dec-2013) at Ramthakur College, Agartala, Tripura (2013-2019).
Dr. Das received an Invitation from the prestigious ‘American Chemical Society’ (ESTD-135 yrs ago) along with their nomination letter bearing Fellow nominated no FN-12047213025 and Candidate Promo Code - 1513JA601 to join the ACS network and Joined as ACS Member on 06-12-2013.
Dr. Das innovated 19 time economic teaching methodologies and invented 39 formulae in the field of Organic and Inorganic Chemical Education within the period (2011-2018) – recognized & indexed by the Indian Chemical Society, India (2015), Americal Chemical Society NY, USA (2014, 2015 & 2018) and chem.libretexts.org (Previously-Chemwiki Digital Library), University of California, Davis, USA (2015 & 2018). All methodologies were recognized/indexed by the top class universities/societies of the world like University of California, Davis, USA; Indian Chemical Society (ICS), Kolkata, India; American Chemical Society (ACS), NY, USA; Federation of African Societies of Chemistry (FASC), Ethiopia, Africa; American Institute of Science (AIS), USA; Open Science Research Society, USA and City College of New York.
All research and review articles in the field of Chemical Education were published in the different international/national journals of chemical education from the four (04) continents such as Asia (India, Turkey, Vietnam); Europe (Germany & UK); North America (USA) and Africa (Ethiopia) of the world.
Some of his time-economic methodologies on ‘Number of Chemical bonds in Hydrocarbon’ came in the form of a tool namely ‘Hydrocarbons Parser’ made by Dr. Edel Garcia, a multidisciplinary scientist and administrator of Minerazzicom, Bayamon, Puerto Rica, USA to calculate and discriminate of chemical bonds in hydrocarbons (Aug-2015). On 7th Aug 2018, Dr. Das achieved the registration of copyright (Ownership) for his innovational research work in the field of Chemical Education on his invented formulae and innovative teaching methodologies bearing registration number L-77140/2018 from the copyright office, Department Of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
International Agency For Standards and Ratings (IASR), certified Dr. Arijit as a 'Father of Modern Chemical Education (Innovative Mnemonics)' and Life Time Fellow of Directorate of Chemical Science, IASR ,USA among 500 worldwide eminent scholars-2018 and won the Award 'World Championship 2018 in Chemical Education (Innovative Mnemonics)' among World's 500 Most Influential Experts in Chemical Science for the Year 2018 on Earth.
